Chemical Bonds!!! :]

A positive Sodium ion and a negative Chlorine ion are strongly attracted to each other
The attraction that holds Sodium and Chlorine together is an ionic bond.

When nonmetal atoms share electrons, they form a covalent bond.
The neutral particle that is formed when atoms share electrons is a molecule.

Metallic Bonds are when two metals come together.

Chemical Reactions
A synthesis reaction is when two or more substances combine to form a single product.

In a decomposition reaction, a substance breaks down into two or more simpler substances.

A Single displacement reaction is where one element takes the place of another in a compund.

A double displacement reaction happens when the positive and negative portions of two ionic compunds interchange.

A combustion reaction happens when a substance rapidly combines with oxygen to form one or more oxides, and releases energy.
